Bridal Maven {Joe Chedrawi}

They say life is like a camera, you focus on what’s important and capture the good times. Great photographers do just that and i’m very happy that Joe Chedrawi will be contributing on a regular basis with the weddings he’s covered from Beirut to NYC.

But first let’s get to know Joe

Q: When and why did you decide to take wedding photography as your profession?

I used to work as a financial consultant but never really enjoyed it, constantly envying people whose work allows them to stay outdoors and simply doing what they love, so i took the first step into making photography my profession. Today i am grateful I do what i do, turning happy moments in people’s lives into long life memories.

Q:What is your wedding photography philosophy?

Feel with the couple, their happiness, their reservations; create a bond with them so they allow me to capture these special emotions and represent it in a picture or a film

Q:How do you approach a camera shy couple?

Most of my clients are camera shy so by today i have learnt to take my time and help make them feel comfortable around me. When the couple realizes that camera shy does not translate to un-photogenic pictures, we get to a stage where they are no longer sensitive to the presence of a stranger taking photos of their intimate moments

Q:What is your favorite wedding destination? Any wish lists?

I am lucky that I’ve been to my favorites to date; Paris, New York, Tuscany and Santorini. In the future maybe a wedding in India, Russia or Cuba?

Q:If you are to work with one camera for the next 10 years which would it be?

No doubt a Leica M! These cameras are made to be simple, the ease and simplification of technicalities allows photographers to concentrate on their subject rather than the instrument at hand.
